HER ARRIVAL
"Her Arrival" features a corset-inspired bodice with boning for structure and shape — but it's built in a light crêpe, not a heavy-duty sculpting fabric. Think elegant structure, it's not intended to heavily sculpt or compress the waist. Doing so may stretch the crêpe over time, which can shift the boning out of place.
Therefore, for best results:
- Hand wash or dry clean only — machine washing can shift the internal boning and affect the fit
- The bodice is designed to hold its shape gently, not to cinch or compress intensely so choose your normal size or size up.
- Avoid excessive pulling or pressure on the waist seam, as the crêpe is delicate by design
If machine washing is absolutely necessary, turn the dress inside-out and place it in the satin bag provided in the package which will offer slight protection on a cold, delicate, gentle cycle. Please note that the boning may shift if this option is chosen.
However hand washing or professional dry cleaning will always love your Lovae piece best. To dry, please lay the garment flat to air dry and keep out of direct sun to prevent colour fading.
Avoid (if possible):
- Washing machine (can snag/warp/damage the placement of the boning in the corset)
- Hot water (shrinks + damages fibres)
- Dryer (will ruin shape)
How to Wear:
- Before stepping into the dress, loosen the lacing cord at the back corset first.
- Unzip the invisible zipper fully.
- Step into the dress.
- Fasten the hook and eye closures.
- Zip up the invisible zipper while the dress is still loose. (Be mindful that the hanging strings do not get caught in the zipper)
- Once zipped, tighten the corset by pulling and tying the lacing cord to your desired fit.
AFTER THE RAIN
We recommend spot cleaning ONLY - then allow it to air dry naturally, laid flat, away from direct heat or sunlight. If the garment requires a deep clean, please use professional dry-cleaning (they must be experienced or specialise in embellishments).
How to Wear:
- Unhook the hook and eye closures and unzip the zipper fully.
- If wearing the dress without the lining, remove it now. If wearing it with the lining attached, leave it in place.
- Step into the dress.
- Fasten the hook and eye closures.
- Gently zip up the dress, taking care that the zipper doesn't catch on the lining fabric.
- Once the dress is securely on, fasten the final clasp.
